About Us

The New Sh!t Show is a bimonthly poetry reading series in San Francisco consisting of a workshop, open mic, featured poet, and, recently, a monthly slam. The show is intended promote the production of new work within a growing community of writers, so all poems read on our stage during the open mic/slam are new sh!t.

For the first time ever, we're sending a team to the National Poetry Slam. We're really excited to have Jason Bayani, Danez Smith, Tatyana Brown, Joshua Merchant, and Jelal Huyler representing our show!
